Haneda Golf Course is an authentic seaside course surrounded by sea, wind and land. The terrain is flat, with an elevation difference of less than 3 metres throughout the course. The course is a replica of an English-style links course, with holes separated by mounds, and creeks, ponds and bunkers adding to the difficulty. The course faces the bay, so the sea breeze in the winter and spring months is a major deterrent when playing golf. The outward game is played on the periphery of the course, with the 7th hole being a long middle hole along the bay and the 9th hole being a floating island green surrounded by a creek. The infield, on the other hand, is inside the course, with only the 16th and 17th holes being free of ponds and creeks. The course requires accuracy in ball striking.
