Ikenodaira Golf Course is a village-run golf course that opened on 1 January 1980 on a plateau 400m above sea level in Shimokitayama Village, Yoshino-gun, Nara Prefecture. The nine holes of this golf course have a total distance of 1,756 yards, and all of the holes have their own distinctive characteristics, especially the first hole, which is known as one of the most difficult holes to play because it is a tricky hole, with a forested area on the left side, which is an OB hole, and a pond hazard on the right side. The second hole, the longest on the course, is a dogleg left and the secret to a high score is to avoid the traps around the first shot.
In addition, the Shimokitasan Hot Spring gushing out of the ground in Shimokitasan Village is registered as a World Heritage Site, ‘Kinari no Yu,’ and is located about 10 minutes from the golf course, making it ideal for relieving physical fatigue after a round of golf. Golfers will receive a coupon for this hot spring.
