Established in 1926, Hamakua Country Club is the second oldest golf course on the island of Hawaii. This unique little gem is located in the rural community of Honokaa on the northeastern coast of Hawaii Island at an elevation of 1,200 feet. With its mild winds and climate, small greens and lush fairways, it is a tough test of what a golf course brings to the table. The course has nine holes with two sets of tees, white tees for the front nine and blue tees for the back nine. The course is 4,800 yards long and there is one par three with 18 sets of tees, with holes ranging from 75 to 150 yards in length. Most people prefer to walk, but golf carts, rental kits and trolleys are also available. The clubhouse is located at the top of the golf course and offers great views of the Pacific Ocean.
