This course was completed in 1991 and quickly became one of the highest rated golf courses in Japan. Its designer, Jack Nicklaus, commented, ‘The design of the course is modelled on my home village of Muirfield.’ The course, which blends natural landscapes with strategic elements, is rated as one of Nicklaus' greatest works to date.
Tree-lined fairways extend outward from the clubhouse to form two circles of nine holes. Highlights include the par-4 sixth, where the green sits behind a small pond; the short par-4 ninth, which is protected by a deep bunker in front of the green; and the par-5 10th, which requires sound strategy to avoid a meandering creek that crosses the fairway.
