Course Introduction

Blue Sapphire Golf & Resort is a nice 36-hole track in western Thailand’s, Kanchanaburi Province. It takes around 30 minutes to reach the course from Kanchanaburi town. The layout is divided into the 18-hole Canyon Course (Course A-B) and 18-hole Ocean Course (Course C-D).

An abandoned open-cast sapphire mine surrounded by mountainous hills was used to create the land for both Blue Sapphire golf courses. Course designers added local plants and native trees to frame each hole. Blue Sapphire's two 18-hole courses (Canyon and Ocean) are well laid out between a series of man-made emerald blue lakes. There are five different tee positions to accommodate every level of golfer. Every hole is unique and named to reflect its playing characteristics.

The two, 18-hole golf courses are called Canyon and Ocean.  There’s a choice of five tee positions on each hole of both courses and therefore, golfers of all abilities will feel welcome.  Each course is split up in to two, nine hole sections and the Canyon Course comprises the Blue Sapphire and the Yellow Sapphire.  Water comes in to play on both sets of nine holes and the par-3 holes are particularly noted for water hazards, as they each play downhill and across water.

The Ocean Course, as the name would suggest, also features plenty of water and Pink Sapphire, which is the front nine, offers some of Blue Sapphire’s most testing holes, despite being the shortest nine holes at the golf club.  The second set of nine holes on the Ocean Course, brings home the previous use of the land as a quarry, with plenty of doglegs, based around rock quarry walls.  This is perhaps the most difficult nine holes on the course, with tight landing areas and elevated greens.
