Murasaki Country Club-The Sumire Course

The Sumire Course is the 18-hole private club portion of the 54-hole Murasaki Country Club. Stretched out on over 190 acres the Sumire course was a beautiful example of a parkland style layout. As is typical of many courses in Japan, Sumire features two greens on each hole. Our task was to develop a master plan that would create two different playing experiences, one challenging, the other easier, depending upon the greens being used. After completing the master plan, we prepared a set of construction drawings and oversaw the construction of the Phase I work. Phase II is scheduled to begin in 2013.
