Bangkok Golf Club opened in 1993 and was purchased by MBK in 2015. Since then the course has undergone a number of changes most notably the installation of lights on all 18 holes and the new 5th hole Par 3 to an island green.

A feature of the course are our greens which are considered amongst the finest in Bangkok. They are grassed with Tiff Eagle grass which is cut much lower than many of the grasses found locally and provide improved putting speeds and consistency. Utilizing turf types that deliver quality playing conditions is paramount on all MBK owned courses and our Zoysia fairways contribute to consistent, quality playing conditions throughout the year.

The course is not long, playing 6,700 yards from the back tees and 5,300 yards from the front tees. There are 5 sets of tees ensuring that all golfers can find suitable enjoyment. Accuracy is more important than length at Bangkok Golf Club with water in play on all but 3 holes. With mature trees and 12 large lakes dominating the landscape players are required to navigate their way around the course to small and typically fast greens.

A feature of the course is the Par 3s with three of the four playing over water headlined by the signature 5th hole island green where anything missing the green will find the water. At 150 yards from the back tee it is not a long hole but requires a precise iron to a small green that sits in the middle of a large man-made lake. The 11th hole is also an island green that plays a little longer with the green having a fringe making it not as daunting as the 5th but still a fun challenge for all levels.

Two of the Par 5s, the tricky 9th and the 12th, although not long have water running virtually the length of the hole from tee to green requiring careful strategy to navigate not only the water but the fairway bunkers and narrow fairways.

The opening holes provide an opportunity to build a good score for the front 9 before arriving at the tough 4th which is one of the hardest holes on the course with water carry required from the tee to a fairway protected by bunkers left and right sides and mature trees impacting anything hit to the right. This green sets the tone for the speed of the greens and is usually one of the quickest. Arriving at the 9th, players are greeted at the tee with a huge bunker that is over 170 yards long and the fast and undulating green sits inside 3 more large bunkers making the 9th hole one of the best par 5’s in Thailand.

The back 9 starts with a picturesque Par 4 dogleg with water again in play. This hole is at its best after dark as you tee off into the black of night with the fairway perfectly outlined and the rest of the landscape pitch black. Another feature Par 5 is the 13th with the course’s largest lake at over 550 yards running the entire length of the fairway. The 18th is a great finishing hole, especially under lights, with a large lake menacing the left side of the fairway catching any tee shots that head left off the tee. Many matches have been lost here to one fatal drive.
